Inside the air-conditioned venues, guests were greeted with a weird and wild schedule of shows – from Anna Delvey and Kelly Cutrone throwing Shao Yang’s punky house arrest debut and Elena Velez’s mud-bath model brawl, to Collina Strada’s stressed-out models giving their best grins while the world burns down [fitting for the sweat-drenched weekend]. Mirroring the week’s eccentric line-up, stylish showgoers slipped into sheer, spiderwebbed sets, mini dresses crafted from crumpled-up newspapers, XXL ruched capes, and layered-up, pearl-strung corsets to pound the city’s burning pavements. Elsewhere, one guest’s lacy, meme-stamped slip read: “Me no study, me go marry a millionaire, if he die, me no cry.” Topping off the looks, metal vampire fangs were glued on teeth, hands were slipped into chained-up boxing gloves, hair came plastered with neon ribbons and extensions, and kitschy bags were strapped with real-life hotdogs and bananas. Meanwhile, guests halting post-show traffic to admire a puppy’s sweeping black sequined gown provided another chaotic moment missing from our SS24 bingo cards. Capturing the madness was Dazed’s fashion photographer Yu Fujiwara, who ICYMI, snapped Julia Fox wearing a deathly Wiederhoeft wedding dress, Paramore’s Hayley Williams stepping out in Sandy Liang, and Dorian Electra’s rose-breasted suiting.
