In photos: Chaotic street style looks served up by NYFW’s coolest showgoers

Dazed photographer Yu Fujiwara captured the fashion crowd’s weirdest and wildest looks of SS24 – metallic vampire fangs, ultra-mini webbed sets, and kitschy cuisine bags all included

What now feels like 13,582 days before our latest pitstop in Milan, the fashion crowd descended upon New York to kick off SS24 with a jam-packed, boiling hot week of fashion moments. Inside the air-conditioned venues, guests were greeted with a weird and wild schedule of shows – from Anna Delvey and Kelly Cutrone throwing Shao Yang’s punky house arrest debut and Elena Velez’s mud-bath model brawl, to Collina Strada’s stressed-out models giving their best grins while the world burns down [fitting for the sweat-drenched weekend].

Mirroring the week’s eccentric line-up, stylish showgoers slipped into sheer, spiderwebbed sets, mini dresses crafted from crumpled-up newspapers, XXL ruched capes, and layered-up, pearl-strung corsets to pound the city’s burning pavements. Elsewhere, one guest’s lacy, meme-stamped slip read: “Me no study, me go marry a millionaire, if he die, me no cry.”

Topping off the looks, metal vampire fangs were glued on teeth, hands were slipped into chained-up boxing gloves, hair came plastered with neon ribbons and extensions, and kitschy bags were strapped with real-life hotdogs and bananas. Meanwhile, guests halting post-show traffic to admire a puppy’s sweeping black sequined gown provided another chaotic moment missing from our SS24 bingo cards.

Capturing the madness was Dazed’s fashion photographer Yu Fujiwara, who ICYMI, snapped Julia Fox wearing a deathly Wiederhoeft wedding dress, Paramore’s Hayley Williams stepping out in Sandy Liang, and Dorian Electra’s rose-breasted suiting.
