Shot by Paul Kooiker, the musician is dressed in a slew of hard and fast looks – all oversized blazers, patchwork-tattered denims, and military boots. But with her Godiva tresses bound to her naked body with a hulking belt, she also makes an usual case for the merkin: a lustrous, pubic wig beloved of hair and make-up artists working on American sitcoms. According to the press release, the objective of the campaign was to “reimagine her as a historical muse,” with Johnasson describing Rosalía as the embodiment of Acne Studios thanks to her “unique ability to shape shift through time, history and culture, all with a contemporary lens.” In other news this week, Paris Fashion Week came to a sour and incredibly depressing close, as Kanye once again went way, way too far. Elsewhere, Jared Leto cast himself as Karl Lagerfeld in an upcoming biopic, FKA twigs made her Miu Miu debut, and Lil Nas X relived his rise to the top in Coach’s new campaign.
