…and more news you missed this week
Pride is here for another year, and, as we recently unpacked, not all rainbow-plastered collections are made equal. But from out of the (literally) monstrous IKEA sofas and abhorrent LGBT sandwiches emerges the odd offering that sparks genuine lust, the first of which takes the form of a collaboration between two bonafide icons which landed on IG this week. Step forward Donatella Versace and the one, the only Cher, who’ve linked up to drop ‘Chersace’ – an edit of simple tees, baseball caps, and more, that give the house’s Medusa figurehead a rainbow makeover. Name a more iconic duo etc.
Elsewhere this week, adidas and Gucci dropped their three-striped, Trefoil-dotted, 70s-inspired collaborative collection with a raucous takeover of Peckham’s Liberal Club, Chloe Sevigny and Megan Thee Stallion made their jaw-dropping Mugler debuts, the Antwerp Six shared some advice for the next gen of fashion designers, and Demna deigned an empty Lay’s bag the hottest new accessory (yes, really). Coming up next week? The SS23 menswear season kicks off, so keep your eyes peeled for news coming out of London, Florence, Milan, and Paris.

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS GO OUT TO SS DALEY
…who took home the 2022 LVMH Prize, beating off strong competition from the likes of KNWLS, ERL, and Paula Canovas del Vas. The rising designer bags himself 300,000 Euros plus expert mentorship, meaning he’ll likely be able to take his brilliant designs to the next level.
NAOMI CHANNELS BRANDY AND MONICA
Self-Portrait dropped its first ever bag, which takes the form of the clean, classic-with-a-twist Bow. Enlisting none other than Naomi Campbell for the accompanying campaign ‘The Bow is Mine’, the series channels legendary Brandy and Monica track “The Boy Is Mine” (duh!) with cute 90s styling throughout.
DI PETSA COMES STRAIGHT FROM THE SOURCE NOW
Dimitra Petsa’s wet look gowns, masturbation jeans, and ‘Cries in Public’ tees have now landed on the designer’s dedicated website, which launched this week. She’s also hosting one of her moon ritual workshops later this month: keep your eyes on her IG for more info.
NANUSHKA TAKES IBIZA
Nanushka launched its summer residency in Ibiza, as the label takes over El Silencio beach house as part of its new, annual ‘Sun Series’. Heading out there? Expect guided meditation sessions, hikes, and soundbaths, plus more wellbeing events. The perfect destination post-DC10 blowout.
NO SESSO LINKS UP WITH LEVI’S
Subversive Los Angeles-based label No Sesso has been carving out a niche for itself across the course of the last few years, and recently joined the NYFW schedule as part of a new wave of exciting creatives to know. Now, it’s joined forces with Levi’s to drop a collaborative line of adaptable denim, with jeans zipping off into shorts, trucker jackets undoing to become corsets, and more.
NIGO’S FIRST KENZO COLLECTION IS HERE
One of the most talked-about shows at PFW in January was Kenzo, as legendary designer Nigo made his debut at the helm of the house, and Kanye, Pharrell, and Tyler, The Creator sat front row. Now, his first collection has landed in stores: all poppy prints, preppy separates, and collegiate style outerwear.
MARC JACOBS AND KIM JONES RUMOURS ARE FLYING
Not long after linking up with Donatella Versace to debut their collaborative Fendace collection, if internet rumours are to be believed designer Kim Jones has another joint offering up his sleeve. This time around his collaborator is reportedly going to be Marc Jacobs, which raises the questions: Fendacobs? Marcendi? Stay tuned.
