A footwear fetishist selects their fave shoes from London Fashion Week

From Richard Quinn’s morph suit-boots to Chet Lo’s acne-ridden stilettos, Instagram’s @larslala gives us the SS22 toe-down

For this edition of my famed fashion week footwear review, I’m not going to start in London, where the most recent iteration of SS22 shows have just taken place, but from my own memories of Dubai. It was there that a fabulous friend of mine once slipped off her stilettos, an insane pair of those bewilderingly bedazzled Prada heels from Miuccia’s spring 2010 collection – you know, the ones where Swarovskis literally bleed from every square millimeter of the shoe – anyway, I love them.

So I sneakily examined their soles (as I do whenever I come across a pair of shoes) to see how often they had been worn, and to my surprise, they were impeccable. I remember panicking. I turned to my friend and asked her: “How!,” to which she simply guffawed, “I only walk on marble tiles, darling…” Which, ugh, love it. In fact, it’s the complete antithesis to what I remember London to be like when I lived there during my fabled stint at Central Saint Martins. This season, however, the city showcased some toe-tally glamorous footwear, and I had at least one sartorial orgasm. Here we go...
