Tautz Does Film As previously reported on Dazed, for S/S 10 E. Tautz took inspiration from a set of photographs of the Duke of Windsor holidaying on the island of Majorca in the 1930’s. Patrick Grant and his team explored the whole idea of an Englishman enjoying life on the Mediterranean in the summer, and wanting to be part of the schedule again this season, they relaunched the storied house of E. Tautz as a ready-to-wear collection during the extended MAN afternoon back in February. As they showed the collection in June, Grant decided to commission young British Artist Quentin Jones to make a short animated film which was presented at their Savile Row showroom with accompanying tea and cakes. The label offers simple tailoring with a little something extra, a bit of pomp, colour, a sense of humour and the Quentin Jones film captures it all. The film wonderfully channels the quirky sense of Englishness which is a fundamental facet of the relaunched sporting and military tailors. You need to have the Macromedia Flash plugin installed to be able to play this video.
