With the BFC announcing a series of workshops, talks, and digital sessions, all of which are, for now, TBC, it’s likely they’ve got quite a bit to be getting on with – but that’s not stopped them joining forces with Browns on a new series of conversations, interviews, and tutorials designed to entertain fashion fans in isolation (and lord knows we need some entertainment right now). Presented in partnership with the BFC, NEWGEN creatives including Supriya Lele, Asai, Stefan Cooke, Nicholas Daley, and more are set to explore identity, inspiration, and more as part of Browns’ ongoing A Family Affair series. But what does that mean? To be a bit more specific, Paria Farzaneh presents a ‘show and tell’ in which she discusses her Iranian heritage while giving those tuning in a glimpse at how she makes her signature prints, Bethany Williams and Priya Ahluwalia put their chef’s hats and head to the kitchen, and Asai, whose AW20 show was cancelled thanks to the coronavirus (sob), joins forces with the one and only Ms. Carrie Stacks on a life-giving isolation playlist. Elsewhere, Tom Rasmussen talks all things Halpern, while A-COLD-WALL*’s Samuel Ross catches up with longtime collaborator Wilson Oryema. “Now, more than ever, collaboration is essential and we need to come together to support each other,” explains the BFC’s Caroline Rush. “I hope that this week’s content will offer a sense of community and look forward to discovering the stories and amazing creativity that the designers have to offer.” Log on from April 30 here and revisit Supriya Lele's AW19 collection above and Asai's AW19 collection below.
