With the former Fashion East designer’s ready-to-wear collections produced in Shanghai, the facility where manufacturing takes place was shut down by the Chinese government, meaning his AW20 collection is inaccessible. With parts of China in lockdown in a bid to contain the virus for almost a fortnight now, the factory is not expected to reopen until LFW is actually underway. Having taken a break from the London schedule for SS20, this marks the second fashion season Ta will be absent from. As one of our fave designers, he’ll be hugely missed this time around – but with confirmation that he’ll be back to show for SS21(!) in September, we’ll be looking forward to seeing him then.
