Now in his third season, the ex-Givenchy designer has firmly evolved the Burberry Kingdom in his own neo-gothic image, demonstrating a youthful, progressive aesthetic and an emphasis on sustainability, as seen via a future-facing carbon neutral show. Burberry might be best known for its eternally iconic trench, but every new era calls for a new look. Enter: the Monogram puffer collection, an offering of lightweight puffer jackets set to launch in the coming months. To celebrate, we partnered with the British brand, bringing together a group of young pioneers breaking boundaries across the globe. As part of an upcoming project, the Medea Sisters, Jacolby Satterwhite, James Massiah, and Huang Jiaqi will all showcase their thoughts on boundlessness, weightlessness, and freedom, with a series of new works set to go on show as part of Boundless, an online exhibition. South London-based poet and producer Massiah presents a series of poems, published within a digital zine, while Milanese sisters Camilla and Giulia Venturini (otherwise known as Medea) collaborate with producer Bill Kouligas on a video inspired by their childhood. Elsewhere, Beijing-based artist Huang Jiaqi expresses the idea of weightlessness with a series of still images capturing bodies in free fall, and New York artist Jacolby Satterwhite creates a virtual reality piece featuring weightless figures not bound by flesh, skin colour, or bones but rather “a spirit that guides their luxury”. With a purpose-built portal offering insight into an experimental creative realm, the platform will not only showcase the group's final works, but also illuminate the process behind them, offering an all-access pass into their individual journeys – featuring everything from recorded calls and videos, to screenshots and sketches.
