Taking over a building on the outskirts of Paris that has been abandoned since the 70s, the designers enlisted photographer Reto Schmid to shoot the images, along with a group of creative Swiss friends including stylist Ursina Gysi and art director Marietta Eugster. “We enjoy working with our friends,” the duo tells us. “Reto has a unique way of capturing a scenario – his photos always tell a story where it looks normal at first and then you notice something funny when you look again.” Showcasing the sexiest fashion picnic ever, the images feature a host of models – including model Zaina Miuccia (AKA @larrydavid420) – lounging on blankets surrounded by food wearing distressed (read: burnt) denim, brightly printed bikini tops, and Spandex-like silk trousers. The collection itself took inspiration from fantasy writer Ken Liu’s novels and brings the idea of multiple narratives together. “With our clothes, we want to create a magical experience beyond functionality,” the two explain. “We brought traditional Swiss lace and check fabrics together with Hawaiian flowers and fantasy prints to make an almost clean type of sportswear.” Head to the gallery above to see more from the campaign.
