In her first Dazed moment, the cover star for winter is Lila Moss, photographed by Tim Walker and styled by her godmother, Katy England. She fronts an issue all about pivotal first moments like these, the kind that make a lasting impact on culture. In his directorial debut Mid90s, Jonah Hill tells the story of a young group whose lives are changed forever once they’d learned to skate. Photographer Ari Marcopoulos shoots the real-life ’boarders and writer Colleen Nika prises the life-lessons out of 2018’s most soulful film. Another photographer pursuing these kinds of revelations is Nick Sethi, who shares unseen glimpses from his year documenting the people and places of India for a psychedelic new book. For our second and limited edition cover photographed by Ben Toms and styled by Robbie, model of the moment Licett Morillo is captured on the sprawling shores of Dungeness. She made her runway debut this season after leaving the Dominican Republic for the first time. Elsewhere in the issue, If Beale Street Could Talk director Barry Jenkins sits in on a roundtable discussion with the film’s stars KiKi Layne and Stephan James, we look at the club scene in Shanghai, Anya Taylor Joy reflects on her dark and beautiful ouvre, Martine Rose shares tales of dancefloor tears and comedowns on Clapham Common, and we visit Georgia, where a mob of creative dissidents are sparking a scene that feels like a total first for the country. Plus, internet pop sensation Clairo reveals how she is ready to face her biggest battle yet offline, and Skunk Anansie frontwoman Skin reflects on 25 years of tearing up the Britpop rulebook.
