You know what that means – a chance for music’s finest to show off their sartorial prowess. Unfortunately, without the likes of Beyoncé and forever Queen of style Rihanna in attendance, things were looking pretty shaky. Enter stage left Cardi B, making her first appearance since giving birth just six weeks ago. Wearing a raspberry-coloured velvet number, she showed off a cute, mom-friendly pixie crop. But that wasn’t it. She opened the night’s event in a red gown, accessorised with baby Kulture swaddled up. OK, it was actually one of the Moon Man awards – she snatched three throughout the night. Later on, she returned again in a black chiffon dress with ruffles. Sure, there were other attendees too – shoutout to Jennifer Lopez for her extensive custom Versace wardrobe (and for snatching the Vanguard Award) and duo Chloe x Halle for looking ethereal in Iris Van Herpen – but none of them delivered to the same level as Christ (B). “I am the empress,” she said at the beginning of the night.
