Playing with the house’s codes, the designer said the show was “just about having fun and playing with the idea of Saint Laurent rather than the vestiaire of Saint Laurent.” Now, he’s unveiled his latest work for the brand: a short film starring Travi$ Scott. Directed by Nathalie Canguilhem, the film sees the American hip hop artist go on a road trip with a crop of new faces including Agnes Akerlund, David Friend and Vittoria Ceretti who walked in the September show. Scott is by no means the first musician to have modelled for Saint Laurent however – when Hedi Slimane was at the helm, he enlisted the likes of Courtney Love, Joni Mitchell, Marianne Faithfull and Marilyn Manson. Perhaps this is a legacy Vaccarello is wanting to continue? Scott himself, who was featured in the Dazed 100, has got quite a bit of modelling experience under his belt now, having also starred in Alexander Wang’s SS16 campaign.
