With silhouettes cinched at the waist and secretary glasses perched on noses, the photographic duo capture the pieces into the school environment. Speaking to us earlier in the year, Gvasalia told us that the collection presents “a translation, not a reiteration” of previous collections, and a “new chapter” for Balenciaga. The collection was also described as “a series of couture attitudes transforming a modern, utilitarian wardrobe” and the editorial shows that modernity and sophistication are not mutually exclusive.
