It was less than two weeks ago that Givenchy artistic director Riccardo Tisci revealed a sneak peek of this season’s campaign on his Instagram. In the image, a heavyweight gang of female models posed in military-inspired jackets – with icons like Mariacarla Boscono and Irina Shayk sharing the stage with newer faces including Yasmin Wijnaldum and Bella Hadid.
Now, in a clip premiered exclusively on Dazed, the house bring the campaign to life in a short directed by photographer duo Mert and Marcus.
Featuring no less than 25 models, both male and female, the clip shows the all-star cast coming and going through a series of doorways in NYC. There’s the first section, featuring a stylish art deco building and smartly-dressed models to match; part two, which features street inspired looks outside a college in the Bronx; and the final segment which sees Julia Nobis swinging through doors backstage at a rock concert, her face painted and dressed in one of the collection’s Egyptian-inspired looks.
Why all the doors? According to the house, they represent beginnings, also symbolised in the debut of a new bag, dubbed The Horizon.
