Though Cara Delevingne is increasingly turning her attention to acting (this year, she’s starring in six more titles, including Zoolander 2 and Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie) she’s still modelling. Case in point: her new advertising campaign for Chanel.
Unveiled today, the campaign features the actress-slash-model wearing the brand’s SS16 eyewear collection – photographed, as they always are, by the inimitable Karl Lagerfeld. Comprising of six images, the star wears a variety of models with the Chanel’s signature tweed and some baseball caps (which reflect her own slightly tomboyish style).
It’s not the first time Delevingne has modelled for Chanel – she’s starred in the house’s Métiers d’Art 2015, AW14 and Cruise 2013 ads, and 15 of its shows.
The unveiling of this campaign comes just a week after the house’s AW16 ready-to-wear show at Paris Fashion Week. Eschewing an elaborate set for an haute couture salon, the show reflected a traditional, more intimate form of fashion presentation. As for the collection itself, Lagerfeld crafted a new, elegant take on Coco Chanel’s house codes complete with tweed, LBDs and boater hats.
