Last year’s SS15 visuals announced a departure from the monochrome imagery of old with a surreal short clip which signaled a new direction. Now, the brand has continued in the vein of its colourful new aesthetic for SS16, debuting a new short which comprises of several abstract selfie videos spliced together. In keeping with the brand’s heritage, the idea for the video came from the mountainous village of Deia in Mallorca, renowned for its population of artists and artist colonies. Each 15-second clip depicts a model who, with the help of make-up maestro and Dazed 100 star Isamaya Ffrench, becomes a fantasy representation of a piece from the new collection. Shot by photographer Daniel Sannwald (also responsible for M.I.A’s Matangi cover), the clip is the first of several which will be rolled out over the coming months.
