Initial reaction:

Poet wandering through the forest, recalling the Romantics’ cherished return to nature.

Into the woods:

A soil runway resembling a remote dirt trail and moody shots of treetops on the walls set the scene for a collection that looked to a woodland universe – a theme which, on the second full day of Milan, seems to be picking up pace. Massimiliano Giornetti looked to the animal kingdom for the collection’s embellishments, trading in last season’s alternative safari prints for embroidered buffalo heads and delicate bird and dragonfly motifs, which came patterned across outerwear.

How it was worn:

Accessorised with an oversize knit scarf, for an all enveloping, cosy feel. Worn leather jackets were paired with autumnal-hued suit trousers, while lived-in checks (another emergent Milan trend) brought coats and jackets down to earth.
