CFDA via InstagramFashionNewsIs Rihanna planning to launch her own fashion empire? She's filed trademarks under her last name for just about everything in fashion and beautyShareLink copied ✔️August 8, 2014FashionNewsTextZing Tsjeng It was only a matter of time before this happened, but it looks like Rihanna is well and truly on her way to launching a fashion empire. The CFDA-approved fashion icon has filed trademarks under her name for just about everything you can think of in fashion and beauty – swimwear, lingerie, cosmetics and apparel included. You can see the whole list of trademarks here, all of which take their name from Rihanna's last name, Fenty. So will we be saying hi to Fenty Intimates, Fenty Apparel and Fenty Swimwear sometime soon? Vogue speculates that the zealous trademark manoeuvre may just be a way to make sure that others don't benefit off her good name, in the same way that Beyoncé and Jay Z attempted to trademark Blue Ivy to protect their daughter. But it's all too easy to see Rihanna make a serious move into the fashion and beauty world. She's just launched her latest Viva Glam collection with MAC, and even the head of River Island acknowledges that her collections for the British high street line made it "more famous than it was a year ago". Her five perfumes were such runaway hits that she is now introducing Rogue, her sixth fragrance – this time for men. Crucially, RiRi will need to side-step the failures associated with past celebrity lines. Even Beyoncé's fame couldn't prop up House of Deréon, which appears to have been suspended indefinitely (its website is offline and its last Facebook update is dated October 2012). But if anyone's up to it, it'll be Rihanna.
