Quote of the show: “The craft element and tapestry pieces were inspired by an artist called Sheila Hicks, mainly her work in the 1960s and 70s. I really loved the idea of building something organically. It's about joy, the joy of making things. For the furs…I raided an archive of 1930s plaid fabrics when I was in Los Angeles and turned two of them into furs, into giant furs.” Joseph Altuzarra Stand out looks: The beautifully pieced together fur coats in plaid patterns, and the hot saturated pinks and oranges presented in a Sheila Hicks inspired tapestry woven dress. How they wore it: With intentionally revealed skin; graphic tailoring worn snug and tied like a bathrobe around the waist; optimistic bright colours were revealed on the inside of coats and behind collars. Soundtrack: “Papa was a rolling stone” by The Temptations, and “Baby’s on Fire” by Venus in Furs.
