The Gucci man had been reinvented and the usual abundance of classic tailored suits had been replaced with something rather unexpected – sportswear. However this wasn’t your normal take on athletic clothing, Giannini’s sportswear resulted in a series of streamlined and, at times, even feminine garments. Each piece was sculpted to the body - something that was further enhanced by exposed seams that marked out areas of the male form. Then came the prints. A beautiful selection of floral illustrations set against a muted blush pink backdrop. Again, these prints didn’t make their way onto a small selection of garments, but they appeared on the runway as full suits repeated again and again.
