We caught up with the girls to talk more about their experience and influence. All the shows run together but I remember doing Anna Sui's show and Versace. The mood for those shows are very different. Anna's shows are very playful and free. Versace is more structured and sexy American model Lindsay Wixson appears in Bombay Dreams by Max Farago and Karen Langley, a suite showcase of Chanel's Paris-Bombay Metiers d'Art collection. Wixson has walked for designers including John Galliano, Jean Paul Gaultier, Nina Ricci, Chanel, Miu Miu, Christian Dior, Roberto Cavalli, Prada, Giles, Marc Jacobs, Anna Sui, Rodarte and Paco Rabanne. This season she can be seen in the Maison Michel lookbook, shot by Karl Lagerfeld, as well as campaigns for Mulberry and Just Cavalli.Dazed Digital: Do you remember your first show? Were you nervous?Lindsey Wixson: Yes, of course! It was very surreal. I was fifteen, coming from the largest city in Kansas. I was doing what I knew was really out-there.DD: What shows did you enjoy walking for A/W12 and what runs through your mind when you're walking down a catwalk?Lindsey Wixson: All the shows run together but I remember doing Anna Sui's show and Versace. The mood for those shows are very different. Anna's shows are very playful and free. Versace is more structured and sexy. I just try to take all the elements from what the designer tells me about the clothes and what the mood is with the music and set and walk with confidence! There's not a whole lot to it. If the shoes are difficult I usually pay close attention to them.DD: What's the secret of your enduring appeal?Lindsey Wixson: I don't have a secret, it's just the way I am. I've always had a good work ethic.DD: Are you a mentor to any of the newer girls?Lindsey Wixson: I feel like a mentor for some girls that are starting out. After shows with extensions and fake nails I fill them in on what they need to stock up on!DD: Tell us something we wouldn't expect of you...Lindsey Wixson: I've started knitting to pass the time on airplanes, castings, fittings and any place that I'm waiting for hours at a time.
