Billie Eilish’s ‘favourite smell in the world’ could soon be yours

‘This is a scent that I’ve been chasing for years and years,’ says the singer of her debut fragrance

Billie Eilish has announced her first venture into the beauty world, with the upcoming launch of her first fragrance, simply named “Eilish”. Set to arrive online in November this year, the perfume is described by the singer as cozy and nostalgic (see also: the dreamy vibe of her latest album, Happier Than Ever).

“I am SO EXCITED to finally share my debut fragrance ‘Eilish’ with you!!!” the singer writes on Instagram in the October 20 announcement. “This is a scent that i’ve been chasing for years and years. this is my favorite smell in the WORLD.”

“Fragrance has always been such an enormous part of my life and existence since i can remember, and it was a dream to create this scent and bring my ideas to life,” she adds. “This has been one of the most exciting things i’ve ever done. i can’t wait for it to be yours so soon!!!!!”

Packaged in a bottle that’s based on Eilish’s favourite parts of the human body — the chest, the neck, and the collarbone — the scent reportedly has notes of amber, cocoa, vanilla, and warm spices. “It’s just very cozy to me and sensual,” Eilish tells Elle. “It makes me want to be curled up at Christmas.”

It also, apparently, reminds her of a “big wooden closet” in her childhood bedroom, tying into her nostalgic outlook. “I always want people to feel nostalgia,” she adds. “It’s one of the best gifts that we have in life, and also being sentimental. I wish I weren’t as nostalgic and sentimental as I am, but I am just obsessed with the idea of my childhood and memories.”

Besides releasing her first fragrance, Eilish is set to star alongside BLACKPINK’s Rosé, Jaden Smith, Barack Obama, and David Attenborough in YouTube’s forthcoming climate documentary, Dear Earth, later this month. In 2022, she will make history as the youngest solo artist to ever headline Glastonbury.
