Rihanna is great. When the revolution comes we will, of course, have to eat her alongside Jeff, Bill, and Elon, but until then she’s a joy to behold and a rare example of a celebrity who seems actually genuinely cool. (Dolly Parton and the USA’s Olympic women’s basketball team round out the list).
The most recent example of this is a one-minute video the beauty mogul released today to mark the US launch of Fenty Beauty’s first perfume. The clip, which she posted across her social channels with the caption “just sayin’”, consists solely of a cross-section of Hollywood celebs discussing how good she smells. If pretty much every single person I came across couldn’t stop gushing about how I smelled like heaven, I probably would also put together a little compilation.
In the video, we start out with Lil Nas X stating that his favourite smell is Rihanna. We then move through quick shots of everyone from Cardi B to André Leon Talley to Jennifer Lawrence to Jim Parsons talking about how great she smells. Then, we get a section where multiple people, independent of each other, describe her as smelling like heaven. Ryan Seacrest, Nick Jonas, Olly Alexander, and NikkieTutorials all make an appearance as well.
Since the release of the clip, numerous other people have also come out to endorse the claims. Strategic advisor and digital guru Zara Rahim wrote on Twitter that she “can absolutely confirm that Rihanna is the best smelling person I have ever encountered in my entire life. Left me in a haze. Felt like I had just smelled the Garden of Eden. This is not an exaggeration.”
While the video is being used as promotion for the new Fenty fragrance, it’s not actually the scent which Rihanna has been wearing all these years. Don’t get us wrong – we will still absolutely be shelling out the cash for the Fenty Parfum when it finally comes to the UK, but we also might look into purchasing her long-time signature scent By Kilian’s Love, Don’t Be Shy. With notes of marshmallow, vanilla, and orange blossom, it’s no wonder Rihanna smells like an irresistible dessert.
Watch the full clip below and, if you are in America, buy the Fenty Eau de Parfum here. The UK launch is, sadly, yet to be confirmed.
