For those who choose the Kajillionaire route, the results were usually unkempt, drab, a bit ragged, lots of split ends. Last night at the Oscars, however, Zendaya showed us all what the style could look like, offering a glamorous spin on the lazy girl style. Taking inspiration from Cher’s iconic 70s hair, Zendaya arrived at the ceremony in a canary yellow Valentino gown which she paired with decadent jewels and flowing, butt-length waves. The luscious look came courtesy of hair stylist Larry Sims, while Sheika Daley was on make-up. Keeping the attention on the fashion and hair, the make-up was kept neutral and fresh with full brows, simple eyes and a nude lip. In other Oscars news, Daniel Kaluuya took home an award for his portrayal of Black Panther Fred Hampton in Judas and the Black Messiah (and gave his parents a very special shoutout in his speech) while Chloé Zhao made history as the first Asian woman to score an Oscar for best director for Nomadland. On the fashion front, Angela Bassett wowed in all-red Alberta Ferretti and Lakeith Stanfield ditched the standard suit for a brilliant, 70s-style jumpsuit by Saint Laurent that riffed on Yves’ OG women’s Le Smoking.
