Raven first made her Drag Race debut on the show’s second season where she placed as runner-up behind Tyra Sanchez. She also appeared on the first season of All Stars, missing out on the crown to Chad Michaels. Since 2017, she has been RuPaul’s personal make-up artist and has served as a creative producer for Drag Race since season 10 and All Stars 3. Although Raven was nominated in 2018 for Outstanding Makeup for a Multi-Camera Series or Special (Non-Prosthetic), it was this second nomination in the same category that has given her her first win. RuPaul’s hairstylist Curtis Foreman also won an Emmy as the department head hairstylist alongside Ryan Randall, taking home the gong for Outstanding Contemporary Hairstyling for a Variety, Nonfiction or Reality Program. Drag Race had a very successful Emmys so far, also taking home the awards for Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program and Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured Reality or Competition Program. Over the years, the show has been nominated for 45 Emmy Awards, winning 17 including Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program for RuPaul.
