How eyeballs became the new canvas of Instagram beauty

It turns out beauty is inside the eye of the beholder

The brainchild of best friends Jules and Gebs, @RavveBeauty is the Instagram account dedicated to showcasing and celebrating all that is disturbing, disarming and alluring when it comes to underground beauty. Doubled up contact lensesiridescent face shimmerobscure facial piercingsheads shaved to look like flowers in full bloom, unibrowsno browswiggly brows. Lending us their well-honed eye, here they pick their top beauty Instagrams of the month.

Generally speaking, we’d say that it’s not a good idea to fuck around too much with your eyeballs. However, recently we’ve been noticing that some brave Instagram souls have started to make it their new favourite playground. If eyes are the colouring book of Instagram, once you get bored of colouring outside the lines, you begin to colour inside the lines, on that clean white canvas the eyeball so readily provides.

Some Instagrammers keep it safely digital, others take it to the next level and make it very physical: with eyeball glitter, colour, contacts, jewels and even tattoos. You could say they have BIG balls.

It turns out that beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all. Quite literally. We’ve rounded up the best of inner eye beauty to found on the gram. Don’t try this at home unless you’re willing to risk pink eye. Warning: This is not for the squeamish.
