The make-up artist on shaving her head, Rihanna’s Cupid’s bow, and how she sees herself in 30 years time

The Dazed Beauty Community is our ever-expanding encyclopaedia of creatives and emerging talent from across the world who are redefining the way we think about beauty. From supermodels to digital artists to makeup prodigies transforming themselves in their bedrooms, these are the beauty influencers of tomorrow who embody everything Dazed Beauty is about. Discover them here.

The 20-year-old make-up artist Ann-Marie Minter shares her flat in Bedfordshire with two hairless rats called Pinky and The Brain. Known by her Instagram hand @beautybybitch, she’s fast becoming one to watch for her glamour meets gory aesthetic. “I love my work to make people feel a certain way, I love positive reactions to my looks but if I get hate I know I've done my job in shocking people.”

Growing up in a small town in Hertfordshire, always felt like she stood out thanks to her “extreme looks and personality”. Hoping to channel this sense of rebellion in her work, she embarked on a degree in fine at Birmingham City University, but she ended up rebelling against this too, leaving just a few months in. “I decided to leave as felt I was sacrificing the love for my hobby for something I was being ‘forced’ to do for a degree,” she says. During this time, she was already experimenting with make-up. After she left, she devoted her time to creating looks and began posting them on social media.

Dubbing herself “the queen of cummy eyelids”, today her page boasts over 11k followers and features gruesome looks - think fake flies submerging her face, tonnes of dripping fake blood, molten gooey eyelids, and skilled experiments with prosthetics that put the SAW movies to shame.

Why do you do what you do?
I would say I’m an ‘artist’, although to me it’s a hobby and something I extremely enjoy doing. I do it because I love the freedom it gives me to create something entirely, whether it's on my face or paper. Self-expression is a huge part of my life and I’m constantly inspired by everything around me and to be able to incorporate it into my life through artwork is incredible.

Tomorrow you wake up with another face of your choice. Whose is it?
Most definitely Rihanna! She has the most incredible cupid’s bow I’ve ever seen, I’d probably wear lipstick a lot more if had her lips. Or Cher, I love her eye shape and would be able to do so much with them.

You have to donate a feature of your body to an icon of yours. You get nothing in return. What do you give?
Probably my hair, I’ve always wanted to shave my head so it wouldn’t be too much of a sacrifice (plus the number of wigs I could wear!?)

It's 30 years from now. You stumble home at 3am and catch your reflection in the fridge door. What do you look like?
I probably look absolutely insane. I can just imagine it now, I’ve probably gone way overboard with the lip-gloss and it's all over my face.

If you could have a new sense on top of your existing ones, what would it be?
Not entirely sure if this applies but I'd love to have the ability to manipulate and change into someone or something else, whether it’s human, animal or inanimate. I could become anyone and use that face to do my make-up!
