In this section, we'll be hosting a series of interactive classes designed to make you feel calmer, happier and more at peace. Soundtracked to the unlikely beats of metal, drone and electronic music, Do.omyoga is the yoga practice bringing together music and movement to create an immersive, meditative experience. Established in 2016, founder Kamellia Sara Mckayed first was inspired to create the unique practice while she was staying in India. Overhearing her neighbour playing an album by doom metal band OM, Kamellia was struck by the idea of practising her yoga to the jarring music. Three years later, Do.omyoga teaches across two permanent London locations and is continuing to grow – featuring at metal music festivals around Europe and even reaching Australia. Attracting a different audience who are intrigued by the unconventional environment Do.omyoga offers, Kamellia’s classes provide a new context for those who wish to practice yoga but may have been put off by its traditional nature in the past. “Listening is the only sense that never switches off,” says Kamellia. “In Do.omyoga you are bathed in sound and taken on a sonic journey throughout the practice. You surrender to the music through listening and it provokes deep introspection.” Here Kamellia guides us through a Do.omyoga practice – follow along and experience it for yourself.
