From crystals to colour therapy, in this section, we'll be hosting a series of interactive quizzes designed to help you on your way to reaching ultimate wellness. Positive affirmations are statements or short phrases used to challenge negative and self-sabotaging thoughts. Affirmations have been around for thousands of years, in the form of mantras, and were first used in Vedic Sanskrit by Hindus in India 3,000 years ago. These spiritual mantras would be chanted repeatedly in meditation and healing practices and were thought to have strong psychological powers that could penetrate deep into the unconscious mind. Nowadays, affirmations are used in a very similar way. The repetition and manifestation of positive statements are thought to change negative thought habits into positive ones. Whether that's during childbirth or in the lead up to a job interview. With some sceptical about how effective the practice is, affirmations are thought to work once you are committed to believing you can make a positive change with the power of your mind. The key is to make sure you confidently and positively affirm that your visions are already a reality. Take this quiz for your personalised positive affirmation. Speak it out loud. Repeat it.
