Discover them here. The future of beauty is “an un-tokenistic celebration of our unique combinations!” says artist, model and singer-songwriter Elouiza. A regular on the East London queer scene, her visual EP ‘Necessity’ from last year was all edited, written and directed by her and her only. The songs explore her encounters with men and her relationship with herself in a transitional period in her life. Recently featuring in a luscious nude shot inspired by the seminal writing of John Berger in ‘Ways of Seeing’ for queer manifesto Cause & Effect Magazine (co-edited by Dazed Beauty Contributing Editor and columnist Tom Rasmussen), Elouiza hopes to express herself in her varied art through a sense of creativity, honesty and vulnerability. Her beauty aesthetic, she tells us, is “sensual, fragrant and complex.” Photography Sue Perstitious Which fictional character do you most relate to and why?I most relate to Sabrina (played by Audrey Hepburn) from the 1954 film of the same name, as she transitions from being invisible to the belle of the ball. It's 30 years from now. You stumble home at 3am and catch your reflection in the fridge door. What do you look like?Glowing and golden, probably dripping in crystals and haute couture. You have to donate a feature/limb of your body to an icon of yours. You get nothing in return. What feature/limb do you give and why?I would donate my hair to Beyoncé so I could watch it blow in wind fans as she performs on stage. You encounter a hostile alien race with an inability to see colour, while sound is their only mechanism for communication. What, musically, would you play to them to inspire them to spare you and the rest of the human race?I would play them a slowed down version of "Video Games" by Lana Del Rey which I found on YouTube - it is just spellbinding. Would you rather live forever as an old person or live your life in reverse?I would live my life in reverse as there are some people I didn’t have enough time with. Elouiza's single ‘Gold’ is out on February 5th.
