Especially the bronzers,” the 16-year-old tells Vogue. “Make-up can give you confidence and make you feel better about yourself. A few years ago my mum gave me a Marc Jacobs perfume, Daisy, and I’ve loved it ever since.” Shot by the legendary David Sims, with creative direction by Katie Grand, hair by Guido Palau, nails by Jin Soon Choi, and make-up by Diane Kendal, the campaign shows the fresh-faced ingenue sporting a purple cat-eye flick – created using the new Fineliner ultra-skinny gel eye crayon in grape (vine) – nude lips, and a jauntily styled black satin head scarf tied in her hair. “Shooting the campaign in New York was a really fun experience,” she explains, “I’ve known Marc since I was little and had heard a lot about Guido from my mum.” Taking to Instagram to announce the campaign, Marc Jacobs recalls the first time he met Lila in Ibiza back in 2008. “At just 6 years old, Lila’s strong character, demeanor and great beauty was already very apparent...This past July is the last time I saw Lila when Kate brought her to the set of our @marcbeauty campaign shoot with @davidsimsofficial. It was a bit surreal to have Kate in the studio with Lila as it brought back memories of the first time I met Kate when she was 18 years old and cast to walk for the Perry Ellis’ Spring/Summer 1993 Grunge Collection.” Since the days of his groundbreaking, era-defining and irreverent campaigns with Juergen Teller, Marc Jacobs has continued to push the boundaries of fashion communication and advertising. With previous faces of the brand including Winona Ryder, Jessica Lange, Willow Smith and Adwoa Aboah, the campaigns for Marc Jacobs Beauty are no different. The new spring collection will be available globally from the beginning February 2019, at Sephora stores worldwide and online, select Marc Jacobs stores and online, as well as at net-a-porter.com, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman.
