The former Olympian (and famed Republican supporter) made the bizarre claims in a new interview with STAT. After discussing the lack of specialised healthcare available for trans people, the conversation quickly got political; with Jenner condemning Barack Obama over his management of the US economy. “I’m on the conservative Republican side,” she explained. “I’m not excited with what Obama has done to the economy, to our Constitution, all that kind of stuff. But as far as the transgender community, they’ve actually been very good.” The I Am Cait star went on to justify her support of the Republican’s presidential nominee, Donald Trump – despite the billionaire businessman being staunchly against gay marriage. “Trump seems to be very much for women,” she went on. “He seems very much behind the LGBT community because of what happened in North Carolina with the bathroom issue. He backed the LGBT community.” Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Jenner has expressed her support for Trump. Back in March, the reality star claimed the candidate would actually be “very good” for women’s issues. She was presumably overlooking the fact that he’s joked about sleeping with his own daughter, called breastfeeding “disgusting”, and loudly condemned women for getting abortions. “I don't think he's out there to destroy women or takes things away or do any of that kind of stuff,” Jenner assured, before calling Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton a “fucking liar” and a “political hack.” Expand your creative community and connect with 15,000 creatives from around the world.READ MOREWhy did Satan start to possess girls on screen in the 70s?Learn the art of photo storytelling and zine making at Dazed+Labs8 essential skate videos from the 90s and beyond with Glue SkateboardsThe unashamedly queer, feminist, and intersectional play you need to seeParis artists are pissed off with this ‘gift’ from Jeff KoonsA Seat at the TableVinca Petersen: Future FantasySnarkitecture’s guide on how to collide art and architectureBanksy has unveiled a new anti-weapon artworkVincent Gallo: mad, bad, and dangerous to knowGet lost in these frank stories of love and lossPreview a new graphic novel about Frida Kahlo
