In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Feldman, famous for his part in the Goonies and Lost Boys films, claims he suffered child sex abuse alongside fellow actor and friend Corey Haim. Feldman spoke about the industry parties they were invited to, where predatory men attempted to befriend them. “They would throw these parties where you’d walk in and it would be mostly kids and there would be a handful of adult men. They would also be at the film awards and children’s charity functions. “When somebody approaches you and says, ‘Hey, this is a Hollywood party where you get to hang out with the powerful people in Hollywood,’ well that sounds like a great opportunity,” Feldmen said. He claimed the average age of children being “passed around” was between 10 and 16. He refused to identify those involved, but said some were employees of his father’s and chaperones. Of one in particular he said: “He’s still prominently in the business today.” Feldman also referred to his long-time friend Corey Haim, who died of drug-induced pneumonia in 2010, and the abuse he also suffered. “With me, there were some molestations and it did come from several hands, so to speak, but with Corey, his was direct rape, whereas mine was not actual rape. I believe that Haim’s rapist was probably connected to something bigger and that is probably how he has remained protected for all these years,” he said. The actor asserted Michael Jackson, who in his lifetime was accused of child abuse, was never involved. “There was definitely a dark side to him,” Feldman said, “but that dark side in no way connected itself to pedophilia by my estimation.” Earlier in the week, Elijah Wood claimed Hollywood had a “dark” relationship with abuse, likening it to the Jimmy Savile case. “You all grew up with Savile – Jesus, it must have been devastating. Clearly something major was going on in Hollywood. It was all organized. There are a lot of vipers in this industry, people who only have their own interests in mind.” Escape the algorithm!
