Now though, it seems like Sophia the Robot is headed for Hollywood, as it’s announced that she’ll be appearing in a new short film, which doesn’t appear to be a documentary, though it does reference her name in the title: SophiaWorld. Also acting in the short film is Evan Rachel Wood, who has previously (and appropriately) starred in Westworld. In fact, the IMDb synopsis for SophiaWorld reads: “Television's most famous Robot, actress Evan Rachel Wood, and arguably the world's most famous real life humanoid, Sophia the Robot, have a chance encounter in a swanky NY hotel bar. But this coincidental meeting is far more than it seems.” The reveal teaser for the humanoid-starring short also suggests links to Evan Rachel Wood’s other show, displaying the Westworld logo and a similar style character. SophiaWorld will premiere on futurism.com, September 4. Watch the teaser below.
