Right now, it’s hard to imagine crowding into a sweaty nightclub and dancing away the hours until the sun rises, but once you’re off the leash and ready for a raucous party, 6 Figure Gang will be waiting. The London-based DJ super group is comprised of Reprezent DJ Dobby, NTS resident and high energy club DJ Fauzia, Rinse FM radio selector Jossy Mitsu, record label SZNS7N’s founder LCY, 160 BPM aficionado Sherelle – who appeared on last year’s Dazed 100 as a solo artist – and DJ and producer Yazzus. Formed in 2019 after a group chat spilled out into the real world, 6 Figure Gang’s collective achievements now boast a residency at Rinse FM – which, they say, has helped them “refine our sound and style so the six of us play fluidly with an almost telepathic connection” – and a sold-out tour of the UK’s most renowned clubs, including Bristol’s Motion and Electric Brixton.
The group say they were drawn together by their shared experience of being women in music who have “worked to push our individual sounds”. Each member of the group works to defy genre through their music, spinning everything from heavy-weight footwork and jungle, to 2-step garage and Spice Girls bangers. Showcasing brand new interpretations of existing sounds, the collective pushes old genres into new territories, receiving approval from scene elders like Om Unit and DJ Storm. Whether you catch them alone or together, 6 Figure Gang will put on a hell of a party.
When it comes to your work, what are you most proud of?
6 Figure Gang: Our ability to be fearlessly ourselves and not compromise our sound. It’s important because each of us has been told that what we’re doing isn’t going to work, but because we stood our ground, we’ve been able to take what we do to places we didn’t think were possible.
How do you want to influence the future?
6 Figure Gang: Take the movement worldwide, keep pushing for recognition of underground artists in spaces they deserve to occupy, and make sure those artists are paid properly for their work.

What creative or philanthropic project would you work on with a grant from the Dazed 100 Ideas Fund?
6 Figure Gang: As part of a traditional UK tour, we’d like to put on workshops with local labels, collectives, and promoters, as well as artists, to inspire the next batch of creatives who will be shaping dancefloors across the world.
