Trump team accidentally books garden centre to hold major press conference

The event wasn’t held at the Four Seasons Hotel as expected, but at Four Seasons Total Landscaping, next to an erotic bookshop

As the season finale of 2020 draws to a close, Donald Trump’s team has gifted us one last blunder. Instead of holding a crucial press conference at the Four Seasons Hotel yesterday (November 7), Trump’s lawyers ended up addressing press in the unassuming car park of Four Seasons Total Landscaping, a business offering gardening services.

How did this happen? Well, a now-deleted tweet from Trump himself – which simply said that the “big press conference” was to be held at the Four Seasons – has led confused reporters and amused onlookers to speculate that someone made a mistake when booking the venue.

A subsequent tweet from Trump clarified that the morning press conference was set to be held on the premises of the landscaping company, while Philadelphia’s Four Seasons Hotel distanced themselves on social media.

To be honest, even if it wasn’t a booking mix-up, things aren’t looking good for the Trump campaign’s finances if they have to hold events in a garden centre car park between an erotic bookshop and a crematorium.

In another perfect twist of fate, the conference – which Trump didn’t attend, because he was off golfing – coincided with the news that Joe Biden is the winner of the US presidential election. Watch the (slightly unhinged) reaction of Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who was speaking at the time he was informed by press, below, and some more positive reactions to the election here.
