It looks like Donald Trump’s campaign team are jumping on the wild mess that is Kanye West’s Twitter feed right now to encourage people to buy red ‘Make America Great Again’ hats.
Following Ye’s slew of pro-Trump tweets, including pictures of him with his signed MAGA hat, the Trump 2020 team sent a text to its donor list. The heading read ‘DON’T BE SILENCED’.
“The American people do not want to be told what to think or who to support,” it reads. “Group think is a mandate in today’s society, and when a free thinker like Kanye West speaks truth, they attack him,” they said. “We support Kanye speaking his mind, even if sometimes we do not agree on the issues.”
“Do not let them silence you. Get your red MAGA hat today.” A link is included to the red trucker hats.

The rapper has been logged off Twitter for about a year, beginning to tweet philosophical statements, supposed plans for a book, and increasingly direct pro-Trump tweets since April 13. He praised Trump’s ‘dragon energy’, and told Twitter that they can’t stop him loving the current president. The text from Trump’s campaign reflect on what Kanye has said, capitalizing on it for election trail cash.
Trump had just (April 26) gone on Fox & Friends and complimented Kanye’s “good taste”.
“Kanye looks and he sees black unemployment at the lowest it’s been in the history of our country,” Trump said. “He’s smart. He says, ‘You know what, Trump is doing a much better job than the Democrats did.’”
