Some know her as Lourdes Leon. Others know her as her former music moniker, Lolahol. Most people will know her as Madonna’s eldest daughter. Today (May 27th), she shapeshifts once again, entering a new chapter under a new name: Lola Leon. At midnight, she released her introductory new single “T Shirt”.

The track is accompanied by a music video shot by director Eric K Yue – known for work as a cinematographer on films like A Thousand and One and Atropia, as well as each of Jane Schoenbrun’s projects, including I Saw the TV Glow and the upcoming Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma.

“Lola has a rare dexterity as a vocalist and on-camera performer,” says Yue. “She can inhabit a fully realised pop-star persona and in a single breath, turn inward into something completely unguarded. It's a portrait of her tenderness as much as her command — her love for her friends and family, her grandmother's apartment as a place of shelter, and the instinct we all have to return to warmth when we feel most fragile.”

“T Shirt” is produced by Sammy Burgess alongside Sega Bodega, the latter of whom has previously produced for Björk, Rosalía, Caroline Polacheck and Oklou. The result is a track that combines the distorted dream-like sounds of those artists, with an Imogen Heap undercurrent and a Lola Leon uniqueness.
