Travis Scott has been arrested in Paris following a fight with his bodyguard, according to authorities in the French capital.

Police were called to the George V hotel at 5am local time to intervene in an altercation between the American rapper and his bodyguard. 

Scott was subsequently arrested for “violence against another person”.

According to a police source, the rapper was intoxicated at the time of the confrontation. “He was not in the right condition to be questioned straight away, so was put in a cell”.

Scott is currently visiting Paris for the Olympic Games, and on Thursday (August 8) attended the men’s basketball semi-final where the USA beat Serbia.

Notably, on Thursday night, Scott was captured confronting paparazzi in a video which has since gone viral.

“This has to be the weirdest amount of people I’ve ever met in my life [...] Go to sleep. How old are you? Y’all too grown for this,” the rapper said, appearing exasperated.

He went on to implore the photographers to do something better with their time. “Go do something other than follow me. Go to the park. Go to the movies, get some grass, get some sun, go find a girl, get some ice cream! Enjoy yourself [...] Y’all n***as weird as hell.”

A representative for Scott said: “We are in direct communication with the local Parisian authorities to swiftly resolve this matter and will provide updates when appropriate.”
