Among them, Dido collaborator Caroline Polachek, Shygirl, Osees, Oneohtrix Point Never and Daniel Avery – all of whom we are obsessed with. In the run-up to the festival, we sent eight photographer and Dazed Club members down to the Shacklewell Arms in Dalston to photograph the four pre-parties, which saw artists including Nuha Ruby Ra, Veranda Live and Girl Scout take to the stage. “I felt like I was listening to a soundtrack of an ambiance-led film,” said one Clubber, Greta Stepanyan. “And taking the portraits of the artists was so worthwhile, I feel the images captured the energetic dynamics of the groups and the dream-like vibrancy of the night.” Eleonora Nitopi, another of our photographers, added, “I was thrilled to work for a music gig, I both enjoyed my time as a listener and as a photographer: capturing the energy and the charisma of the performers was a really delightful experience.” Check out the Dazed Clubbers’ photos from the Wide Awake Festival’s pre-parties in the gallery above.
