Get your first look at FKA twigs’ new video for ‘which way’

‘It’s really special to me’: in a Dazed exclusive, the artist shares the London-set visuals for her latest single

FKA twigs is charging around central London and causing chaos with girl band DYSTOPIA in the video for “which way”, released today. Following “honda”, “oh my love” and “papi bones”, it’s the latest visual counterpart to her January mixtape Caprisongs

“which way” was originally started by producer Mike Dean in LA, before FKA twigs took it to London and asked DYSTOPIA, a girl band from Hackney, to collaborate with her on the track. “I’ve been following them for a while, and I really love their attitude and the way they were doing their own thing musically, and I really love the way it’s turned out,” she tells Dazed.

Looking like it was filmed on a grainy camcorder, the video captures the frenetic energy of careening around a big city when you’re young. “It’s really special to me because we’re running around London and Central London together, and it’s a lot of places that when I first moved to the city I’d go, and hang out and I’d dream about being an artist,” she says.

The styling also feeds into the video’s nostalgic vibe. “We’re wearing Clarks Wallabees which is really cool because it’s a big part of West Indian culture but also reminds me of being a schoolgirl and the type of shoes that I had and that I wanted growing up,” she says. “It just relates back to a sort of Jamaican style and way of dressing that I really like.”
