Arriving yesterday (January 19), the visuals see a dazed twigs standing in the middle of a park, while her menacing alter ego wields a bow and arrow on top of a nearby building. Over autotuned vocals, the latter then looses the arrow straight into her counterpart’s heart, with drone footage taking us along for the ride. Following the release, the musician also shared behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot, directed by Dazed 100 alum Aidan Zamiri. “When the drone hits,” she writes in the Twitter post, alongside a clip of the drone colliding with her leg. Speaking about Caprisongs earlier this month, twigs described the mixtape as a “journey back to myself through my amazing collaborators and friends”, adding: “It’s my stubborn caprisun ass telling me to work thru my pain by delivering at work, don’t think just go studio and create.” The “Meta Angel” visuals are preceded by another London-set music video, for the opening track “Ride the Dragon”.
