FKA twigs officially announces her new mixtape, CAPRISONGS

Pa Salieu, Shygirl, The Weeknd, Jorja Smith, and more feature on the imminent record

FKA twigs has officially announced her new mixtape, after sharing several teasers about new music via TikTok over the last few weeks. Titled CAPRISONGS, the new project was announced in a statement via Instagram, which also showcases the artwork and tracklist.

“Hey i made you a mixtape,” twigs writes in the Instagram post. “Because when i feel you, i feel me and when i feel me, it feels good.”

“CAPRISONGS is my journey back to myself through my amazing collaborators and friends.”

Those aforementioned amazing collaborators include former Dazed cover stars Pa Salieu and Shygirl, as well as The Weeknd, Jorja Smith and Unknown T, Dystopia, Daniel Caesar, and Rema.

twigs shared her CAPRISONGS track with The Weeknd — titled “Tears in the Club”, and co-produced by Arca, Cirkut, and El Guincho — last month. The track arrived alongside a strobe-filled music video starring the two musicians (watch here).

In the new announcement, twigs adds: “CAPRISONGS… it’s bronzer in the sink, alco pop on the side, a cherry lolly, apple juice when ur thirsty, friends in the park, your favourite person, that one sentence somebody said to you that changed everything, a club pre-game, your bestie who is always late but brings the most to the party, meeting a friend at the airport, just togetherness.”

“It’s my stubborn caprisun ass telling me to work thru my pain by delivering at work, don’t think just go studio and create.”

The full CAPRISONGS mixtape is scheduled to arrive later this month, on January 14. Take a look at twigs’ announcement and tracklist below.
