The musician has revealed that she’s working on a “deep, emotional, and honest” mixtape, which we can possibly expect very soon. As reported by NME, twigs announced the news while speaking to fans on Discord yesterday (September 7). She confirmed that her “next project is a mixtape” and that she’s “thinking about a Capri season takeover”, hinting that it might be released during Capricorn season, AKA in December or January. “I’m still here just in the studio today, gonna do some tidying up on here in the next week,” she said. “So happy we are all here together… gonna be telling u secrets soon.” Offering more details about the mixtape, twigs added: “It’s really deep, emotional, and honest, but hopefully more golden tears than blue. I channeled my melancholy differently this time, and it was so amazing.” “I made my next project thinking about all of u and my friends,” she continued. “It’s for getting ready and going out to, and being with people who make u feel good.” twigs also suggested that Arca, Koreless, El Guincho, Cirkut, and Mike Dean could be among the collaborators, with “lots (of) beautiful others to be revealed soon, and some stun and special collabs”. In July, twigs directed the video for Koreless’ track, “White Picket Fence” – her directorial debut for another artist. The pair had previously collaborated on MAGDALENE, which Koreless helped to produce. The artist has recently announced a number of other visual projects, including a martial arts TV show “centred around outsiders” and a skateboarding dance video – you can watch the latter here.
