Unsound Festival has announced its 2021 line-up

The Kraków festival is taking place at reduced capacity this year between October 13 and 17

Unsound has announced its main music programme for 2021. Kicking off from October 13 to 17 in Kraków, Poland, the festival will be operating on a smaller scale than previous editions, with a mix of virtual and IRL events.

This year’s festival will be themed around the idea of “dəəp authentic”, which is Unsound’s “response to a hyperreal situation”.

Fresh additions to the line-up include Tygapaw, Bbymutha, and Drain Gang co-founder Ecco2k. They will be joined by the likes of Flora Yin-Wong, Bendik Giske, Scotch Rolex, MC Yallah, object blue, and TSVI.

Also performing is Nicolás Jaar, who has curated a special 90-minute show, transforming last year's digitally-presented Weavings into a live performance. Juliana Huxtable, Theresa Baumgartner, and Ziúr will also perform their collaborative project Off Licence, while Danny L Harle will debut his Harlecore experience with digital artist Sam Rolfes.

Joining the discourse programme is philosopher Benjamin Bratton, who will talk all things synthetic and artificial, Holly Herndon and Mat Dryhurst will perform an episode of their Interdependence podcast live, and researcher Simone Niquille will discuss the future of domestic robots.

Unsound 2021 takes place from 13 to 17 October in Kraków, Poland. Find out more on the festival’s website.
