Streaming exclusively on Facebook — and set to premiere on Youtube this Friday (August 20) — the visuals track the musician as she drives around the block on the back of a truck, performing as the sole participant in a pretty underwhelming parade. Directed by frequent collaborator Bill Benz, the “Daddy’s Home” video also focuses on some pretty indifferent onlookers, as well as newspaper covers that dig deeper into the inspiration for the track: the release of Clark’s father after a nine-year stint in prison. Benz also directed the videos for previous singles “The Melting Of The Sun” and “Pay Your Way In Pain”, as well as the musician’s upcoming satirical concert documentary with Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein, titled The Nowhere Inn. The first full trailer for The Nowhere Inn — which is described by Clark as a “bananas art film” — arrived last week (August 12), following a teaser released back in May (revisit the official trailer here).
