Following two much-hyped listening events at the Mercedes-Benz stadium in Atlanta, the rapper has announced a third show, set to take place in Chicago. West confirmed the upcoming event at the city’s Soldier Field stadium in a post on Instagram earlier today (August 18). Earlier in the day, a fan had teased his coming appearance, tweeting: “I work for security at Soldier Field, and we recently had an event added under ‘major concert event,’ and I’m very confident that it’s for Kanye’s listening party.” Earlier this month (August 10), Kanye collaborator KayCyy also stoked rumours about a change in venue, when he tweeted-then-deleted: “We’re moving to another stadium”, followed by claims that he’d been hacked. Kanye’s first listening party for Donda took place in Atlanta last month, and saw him stalk the stage in red Yeezy armour, playing an assortment of unfinished tracks featuring the likes of Jay-Z, Pusha-T, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, Baby Keem, Jeremih, Lil Durk, Roddy Riich, and Pop Smoke. His second, meanwhile, was a theatrical affair with creative direction from Demna Gvasalia (think: lots of hellfire, and Kanye ascending through the roof in a haze of fog and spotlights). After both performances, the album itself has failed to materialise, though Kanye has been teasing some new tracks, including the Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg-featuring “Glory”, and Donda’s “No Child Left Behind”. Kanye West’s third listening event is scheduled to take place at the Soldier Field stadium in Chicago on August 26, with tickets going on sale this Friday (August 20).
