The remix comes as part of a wider release celebrating the anniversary of the record, which was first released in 2000 (and remained their one and only album for the next 16 years). Titled Since I Left You (20th Anniversary Deluxe Edit), the project also includes collaborations with Leon Vynehall, Black Dice, Carl Craig, and Sinkane. MF DOOM passed away aged 49 last year. Discussing the late rapper’s appearance on the anniversary reissue via Instagram, the group writes: “There are no words to describe how much he is missed. The greatest there ever was.” The Avalanches followed up Since I Left You with their second album, Wildflower, in 2016. Since then, the group has released its third full-length record, We Will Always Love You, with features including Jamie xx, Karen O, and Denzel Curry, alongside a title track with Blood Orange.
