100 gecs’ Laura Les shares visuals for solo single, ‘Haunted’

The much-anticipated track debuted during the A2B2 Night of Fire virtual concert last year

When coronavirus lockdowns hit, 100 gecs were well-primed to take their performances online, having already taken to the stage at virtual festivals in online video games. “You should go to a virtual festival – I tell everybody it’s cool,” Laura Les, one half of the duo, told Dazed in an interview last year. “For me, it’s like a holiday – I just grab some drinks from the corner store, go to my room and hang out and mess around on my avatar.”

A few months later, Les performed solo at the lockdown music festival A2B2 Night of Fire, where she debuted a new song titled “Haunted”. By popular demand, that song has now received a much-requested official release, alongside a spooky new video directed by former collaborator Weston Allen.

The sub-two minute track is Les’s first solo single since 100 gecs truly blew up, with the release of their debut album, 1000 gecs, in 2019. The duo has since released the remix album 1000 gecs and the Tree of Clues, featuring Charli XCX, Dorian Electra, A. G. Cook, Danny L Harle, Rico Nasty, and more.

Dylan Brady has also racked up production credits as a solo artist, recently producing the track “Toxic” for Pussy Riot and Dorian Electra, as well as Rebecca Black’s 10th anniversary “Friday” remix, featuring Dorian Electra, Big Freedia, and 3OH!3.
