HAIM share new collaborations with Taylor Swift and Thundercat

Reworked versions of ‘3am’ and ‘Gasoline’ feature on an expanded version of Women in Music Pt. III

Having teased that they would team up with Taylor Swift in a TikTok post earlier this week, HAIM have released a new version of the track “Gasoline”, with added vocals from the folklore singer. The track features on a new, expanded edition of the band’s latest album, Women in Music Pt. III.

Unveiled February 18, the new version of the record also features a collaboration with Thundercat, who appears in a particularly dreamy take on “3am” (the song that previously saw the group link up with Robert Pattinson).

“We’ve known thundercat since 2013, and since then we’ve always talked about collaborating on something,” HAIM say in a statement posted to Instagram. “So this past December, we were in the studio working on a cover and at the end of the session Este mentioned that we’d always imagined ‘3am’ as a duet. Minutes later Thundercat hopped on the song and put his magical twist on it.”

The band also discuss Swift’s collaboration, saying that “Gasoline” was always her favourite track from Women in Music Pt. III. “When we were thinking about ways to reimagine some of the tracks from the record, we immediately thought of her,” they add. “She brought such amazing ideas and new imagery to the song and truly gave it a new life.”

Listen to HAIM’s new versions of “3am” and “Gasoline”, with Thundercat and Taylor Swift respectively, below.
